SAMBA Clinical Outcomes Registry Launch

New Orleans, LA. The Society of Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA) announces the launching of SCOR: the SAMBA Clinical Outcomes Registry at their mid year meeting. SCOR will serve to develop a national database of patient outcomes in both Ambulatory Surgical Centers and Office-Based surgical suites. The hope is that this database will become a widely accepted, specialty specific, benchmark for accepted standards of care. Individual practices can compare their hospital admission rate, morbidity, and mortality rates to these benchmarks. This will provide valuable insight to the practices themselves, for patients seeking services at these facilities, and also for the respective state medical board in regards to compliance.
