Coining the term Single Specialty Surgicenter
March 3, 2010

Rest Assured continues to set the standard in Office-Based safety, coining the term Single Specialty Surgicenter.

To receive this distinction the office-based surgical suite has to fulfill four criteria:

  1. The surgeon must be board certified within the specialty they’re practicing
  2. The surgeon should have hospital privileges to perform the proposed surgery
  3. The facility itself must be accredited by a national agency
  4. And, just as in a hospital, there should be an anesthesiologist immediately available.
There is no governing body that requires this meticulous level of care. But each of our surgical clients put a similar emphasis on patient safety, which distinguishes them above all other office-based surgeons in the area. Dr. McMullen’s presentation at the North Carolina Aesthetic Plastic Surgery meeting, discussing Safety in Single Specialty Surgicenters, is now available to read and review at www.restassuredmd.com/SSSSAF.
